Desert Dinos
I rented this Ford Mustang in about 1983 and took some friends out to Palm Springs. This was on the way. The Brontosaurus actually had a gift shop in it.
Now it’s all built up around there with fast food establishments and the dinos are looking pretty faded. I stopped driving not long after that because I am one of the world’s worst drivers. It was only fair to the other road users. I’m a bit wonky-eyed, with no ability to perceive visual depth, have a tendency to daydream and no road confidence. The day I found myself feeling relieved every time I saw a car receding the other way in my rearview, relief that I hadn’t crashed into it, I knew it was time to stop. I really don’t miss being behind the wheel.

I will put in more dates as I know them. It’s been great that ‘Optical Illusions’ has been played on the radio quite a lot. Now that there are new versions it’s all getting a bit discombobulating. Richard and I are going to make a second promo disc so we can kind of catch up with it all.

Tomorrow evening (Monday) Geoff Pesche is going to remaster ‘My Oracle …’. I’ve done a few switcheroos and updates.
It felt like so long to the release date I couldn’t help it. It’s a bit close to the deadline for iTunes but the album’s better for it.
Geoff will be doing it in his mastering room at Abbey Road Studios here in London
[that's not my car outside, I wouldn't even know how to drive it]
