Hi William, love your stuff.
unfortunatley i missed your British music experience thing at the O2 a few years back, do you plan to do any performances/talks in the future in the UK?
Thanks.
Russ
Wonderful orbit mixer. Fantastic. Thank you.
Please consider an Mac update for Mountain Lion. Unable to play PowerPC orbit mixers on OS 10.8.2. A slash appears over Flash icon. Perhaps, Richard Shea could provide version update. Much obliged.
To this day time stood still is one of my all time favorite tracks :) I’m dieing to know if theres any info u could share about this song since not much has turned up online. I’d also be curious to know if there were ever any remixes made or alternative versions…

Hi William,
I have been a fan of yours for many years. Going back to the time of Stange Cargo and even Torch Song. Still listen to your music all the time and always will. I was recently in London and found some of your CD’s in music stores. A tall order to find them in Australia. I usally go through ebay to find your music and sometimes I score and other times I don’t. Just keep up the fab work and maybe by the off chance and I mean just maybe I will meet you one day and shake your hand and just say Thanks for the great music.
Hey Will, Don’t want to gush too much, but Ray Of Light is one of my all time fave albums, there’s some beautiful work in there. Your obviously a very busy bunny, but how would I get you to work with me to develop some musical sketches I have ?? Would love your input…
Mark.
Hey,
Just wanting to know, did you create the William Orbit -Nimrod (jakwob) song on youtube?
I must know this asap!~

hi William. im from Turkey. I listen to electronic music since ages. FOr me, you and Liam Howlett of Prodigy are most talented guys i ever know. I want to thank you for this kind of weird music. It changed my life. Best wishes.
hi william, thank you for the music. my newborn son will grow up listening to your albums. already started with the pieces in a modern style. your music is healing us.
Hi William!
First of all I hope you are doing well and I have to say that I’m very enthused about your work, especially what you did with Katie Melua was something I found very beautiful and it inspired me to write to you personally. I hope that you can spare up to five minutes of your precious time to evaluate my following proposition.
A little bit about myself first, my name is Alba and I’m a 23 year old singer-songwriter from Finland. I live in London and I am currently looking to collaborate with a passionate and broad minded songwriter-producer to shape my singer-songwriter type of songs into something that can reach millions of listeners. Vocal production is important but also an ability to bring more substance and variety into the very simple, catchy, yet melancholic songs of acoustic origin that I’ve written since the age of 15. What you did with Katie’s songs was a great example of the type of production I am feeling good about and I think it would suit my songs. You are more than free to prove me wrong though!
I would like to ask you kindly to view this one and only video that I have on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsKPDXhcG2M
I believe this song has potential and I would love to know if you would be interested to share the journey to create something new, exciting and meaningful.
I’m really looking forward to hearing back from you soon and can’t wait to hear what you have to say about my proposition! :-)
With love,
Alba
My wife and i were now happy that Jordan could finish up his sidutes via the ideas he discovered in your web site. It is now and again perplexing just to possibly be freely giving points that many some other people have been making money from. We really keep in mind we have got the blog owner to thank for that. All of the explanations you have made, the easy website navigation, the friendships you will make it possible to create it is all exceptional, and it is helping our son in addition to us reckon that that concept is satisfying, which is seriously fundamental. Many thanks for all the pieces!
William and Allen. It was a joy to meet you both at the Groucho pop up club in Ibiza. I hope to be playing at Groucho London soon after I return. Maybe see you there. Best wishes Howard.
Strange Cargo Hinterland. Easily my favorite album of all time. I think I first heard it around 98/99 and have never grown tired of listening to it. I enjoy all your work, love the music you did on Madonna’s album, but this one album is just so far and above all the rest for me, aural perfection. I don’t know what you tapped into when you put this one together, but you nailed it. Thanks for giving me something I have enjoyed for so long, and will continue to enjoy the rest of my days!

Very good internet webiste! I actually really like how it truly is effortless on my eyes and the data are well written. I’m wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been produced. I’ve subscribed for your feed which should do the trick! Have a good day!
Hi William,
How are you?
I hope that you have a great set at the Groucho in Ibiza.
I played an acoustic set on Saturday night whilst Mitch Tonks was cooking some amazing seafood, it’s a great venue and for such a good cause!
Just wondered if you caught any of my set and what you thought.
Have a brilliant time at the Groucho!
Regards
Mark

Hello,
I recently did an interview with Harold Budd where we talk about Brian Eno and Ambient Music (and have Christian Fennesz coming on the show next). I’m writing to first let you know about my site and second I was wondering if you would consider posting a link on your webpage in the Links section (or help me promote the podcast)? Thanks for your consideration.

Hello I have been listening to Strange Cargo3 and Strange Cargo2 and have been trying to buy Strange Cargo and Strange Cargo Hinterland but unfortunately I cant seem to get copies of these CD’s in Dublin, I’ve tried and had no luck so far. Would you be kind enough to email me the record publisher and year of release so that I have a better chance of ordering it and getting a copy of both. I haven’t got an iPod so buying off of the internet is wasting my time. I’d like to have the CD’s cos its solid like. Its ones and zeros on a format I can hold in me hand.I thought the albums were film tracks but it turns out they’re not. Sounds good though.I like the two albums that I have. I hope you dont mind me calling them albums but I’m an early sixties model who is trying to catch up with the new technology. It was LP’s in my time. Hope you can help with my enquiry. Thank-you William.
and here ;)
go to see u back in here
I’m an amateur filmmaker in Ohio, and I’d love to discuss using “Triple Concerto” from Pieces 1 in an upcoming project. Is there a more appropriate venue for an inquiry like this? If so, please let me know who I should speak with. Thanks, in advance, for your consideration!

You once commented on my compression comment a while ago. Even though I know about compression, I just in the last 6 months “get it”! It makes such a difference. You can hear all the sounds in the mix and my song sound so proffecional-ish. I always thought I just had bad mixes before. I finally put my Garageband songs on itunes after going back and adding a good limiter/compression to them. Next on my list, harmonics. All I know is if I shift the knobs for the 3rd and 1st harmonics, the sound gets better and clear but I don’t quite get it as to how or why??. Hope to be lucky as you to make my life/living in music. Gonna try out for the voice in August and sing one of my songs “Come Back To Me” on TV if I can get that far. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed : ) !
YOUR MUSIC TOUCH MY MIND AND SOUL. THANKS
Mr Orbit,
There has been so much Madonna Bashing in the press, MDNA a flop, Biggest 2nd week sales drop, William Orbit having a moment, Tour sales down – MADONNAS A GONNA!
Who cares what ‘The Peanut Gallery’ says!
I like MDNA, I don’t like Gang Bang, but I didn’t like I love New York until I saw it live – there are lots of Madonna songs I don’t like, but there are many more I do. MDNA is a need to ‘see it live’ album, let’s face it eventually tours will come before the album. Music and its distribution is changing, music always needed the Radio, Video and now in the digital download market it needs the Stage, ultimately we need to feel that our music is ‘Alive’, real, that the artist is human, feels. Madonna stands for hard graft, perceived failure, is perhaps her strength, you don’t remain in the music industry for 25 years without doing something right – ask Simon! Madonna didn’t take her eye off the ball (Mr Orbit), she did what she does best, produce something that will only be liked in hindsight – when the followers catch-up!
I have always admired your work because you always bucked the trend, took something and made it exciting, new! You know the truth about your relationship with Madonna, why expose it.
for start you can boost their image on so.cl but aside from that type up how you feel & what you see going on on word perfect then ponder over it for a week to get it perfect then send it to big publication like rolling stone. we each have the power to make a difference. :-)

william I think the people you paid to straighten out this site got into your vodka. instead of sending me a response to my comments – the sent me 39 comments from other fans. I’ve been at the new so.cl by microsoft giving you free positive publicity like a good FRIEND ( not fan ) should.
don’t know what your talking about mate, don’t remember disabling your comments or anything. Calm down and have another crack at it. Keep it coherent
Would love to do an interview with you for GuySpy.com, the multi-media site for all things gay-related. I’m the Senior Editor, and you’d be a perfect fit. We have over 400,000 readers internationally and are growing rapidly. I’m posting a piece I did on Madonna/Lady Gaga, so you can evaluate my writing, and can send you anything you wish. I’ve interviewed Cyndi Lauper, Olivia Newton-John, and Dave Aude. All my best, david toussaint 917.518.7787 http://www.guyspy.com/how-do-you-solve-problem-madonna-reductive-reasoning/

Hi there,
I’m a student at ACM doing research for my final dissertation. It’s based on an artist having unique/recognisable sound, and what characteristics make the sound so. I am trying to get an opinion from someone influential, so if you have a minute to answer some of my questions, that would be great.
Do you go to great lengths to make your music different from everybody else? What do you think is identifiable in your music?
How important do you think individuality in music is? What aspects of the production do you think might be key in developing an artists individuality?
And finally, When working on an album, do you try to keep a theme throughout the album? How did you go about keeping the tracks consistent?
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I hope I haven’t taken up too much of your time.
Sincerely
Matt
william the ipod touch 4G is composing in the palm of your hand & on the go.
I know you love sounds & music as much as I do. these are more songs with sounds that are great to play & mix with. Gary Wright – “Dream Weaver”, Steve Miller Band – “Fly Like An Eagle”, Mannfred Man – “Blinded By The Light”, Gerry Rafferty – “Baker Street”, Jefferson Starship – “White Rabbit”, the album “Swing Street Cafe” by Joe Sample & David T. Walker,Pink Floyd – “Marooned”
William,
I write to let you know that I think your work is amazing. I have been immersed in the “MDNA” tracks and “Pieces in a Modern Style 2″ these last weeks, and they have expanded my sense of what music can be be. Thank you so much for all of your work, and I wish you every continued success with it.
Best,
Michael
I bought the billy buttons alternative single. if you would let him know about the song ” disappearing into you ” by raphael
william could you buy or persuade madonna to buy for herself a portable Van De Graaf? one might benefit you as well.
william for start I payed $18.00 for MDNA not only did it have different songs then what the back cover said it also didn’t have GANG BANG. I saw a video called “what it feels like for a girl” which played out with an evil theme of violence & at one there was a hotel door with 3 6′s simultainously. some of the lyrics of MDNA sound evil or on the darkside. I understand sex sells & a shock jock can move large crowds but evil is a subject we must all refrain from especially broadcasting to naive youngsters looking for a trend. sign your friend mike.
Hi W!
In a recent interviewyou mentioned Bang Bang was turned into Gang Bang after somebody plugged in an iPad with some wicket beats. Were they prerecorded, or were they produced in an App likf FL Studio or Nanostudio etc. If so: what App was it? And will we ever hear the Bang Bang demo? Fans love to follow a creative process.
X MDSN
william if you will not can you hire or instruct another musical artist to begin ( the never ending story ) creating the complete library of articles of sound. then create a website to hold them all, with an apparatus that splices them together.maybe creating an apparatus where as anyone can submit a song & the library slices & catagorizes it by optive sound, musical group, & instrument group.in the future student will use the music library to learn & create new pieces of work.
do you ever read this? you never respond.I believe if you listen to the best of other artist you grow into a better artist. listen to the instrumental part of the song “holly ann” by boston, the song “moe down” by the dixie dregs, the album “the private collection of tangerine dream” as well as “cinnamon road” & “stratosphere” by tangerine dream, the song “captain zlog” by hank marvin, the album “yellowstone” by mannhiem steamroller, the album “nightfall” by david lanz, the song “montezuma” by cusco. I believe I am the one who talked madonna into hiring you which jumpstarted your career.the albums “hold your fire’ & “powered windows” by rush, & the album “all things new” by STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN.
Admiration.
Thanks so so so much for ‘Falling Free’, sublime, beautiful and totally the best thing Madonna has done for so many years. Had this track on repeat for the last 3 days, the lyrics but especially the music is so buggery moving; and as a songwriter too, I’ve been buggery moved; loved it! Thanks for sharing your talent W!

_if you need light…
Hi William, Great work with Madonna ie Masterpiece, pls do some absolutely kick ass tracks with Madonna, I’d like you guys to do a monster hard core dance track another classic please.
mr. orbit could you make a project to work with a director & create a fluid DVD. add to or take a way from your songs so as you can splice them together in 1 long, maybe 2hr. video. starting out with your spanish themed songs & progressing to techno mania that only you know how to do. P.S. I told someone online about you years ago who claimed to be madonna. my wife had left me at the time & I feared for her life.
